Visitors to Terhune Orchards in Princeton had opportunity to participate in an ancient British tradition.
The Wassailing the Apple Trees event, held on Jan. 29, featured dancing and singing by the Molly Dancers as well as re-enactments of old English rituals.
According to historic-uk.com, “wassailing, or blessing of the fruit trees, involves drinking and singing to the health of the trees in the hope that they will provide a bountiful harvest in the autumn.”
